Green Party Cllr Malcolm NoonanGreen Party Cllr Malcolm Noonan organised a meeting in Kilkenny City in September 2008 to determine the level of public interest in setting up an allotment scheme. Following a large turnout, Cllr Noonan was approached by several landowners who wished to provide land for the establishment of allotments on a private site. The cost for renting an allotment is €175 a year with garden shed and watering facilities provided for an extra cost. He is currently in the process of setting up a community garden on church land and says he is delighted with the response from the local community.
