Clonmel Allotments Association

Clonmel Allotments Association has been working with Clonmel Borough Council since March 2008 to get a pilot council allotment scheme up and running in the town. The scheme of 22 plots was started last week (23rd March) and an official opening will be organised later in the year. We have a growing waiting list of people who would like an allotment.
Clonmel Borough Council elected representatives and officials are to be commended for being so supportive of the idea. The Allotments Association has received a lot of help from Fingal Co. Co. and South Dublin Allotments Association. We aspire to represent anyone in Clonmel who is interested starting allotments and community gardens; we also mantain the waiting list for allotments in Clonmel (so contact us first, not the council!). Our website is at www.clonmelallotments.org and our latest news will be updated on the Clonmel Transition Town website http://www.transitiontownclonmel.wordpress.com/ which will be going live this week (31st March).
